About us

About Us

2nd Paisley Abbey Scout Group was founded in 1909 and is based in the heart of Paisley. We offer fun, challenge, and adventure to local young people through our four sections:

  • 🐿️ Squirrels (ages 4–6)

  • 🦫 Beavers (ages 6–8)

  • 🐺 Cubs (ages 8–10Β½)

  • πŸ”₯ Scouts (ages 10½–14)

We’re proud to be part of the Paisley community and have strong links with local organisations including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Paisley Abbey, and more recently, the University of the West of Scotland.

None of what we do would be possible without our amazing team of volunteer leaders and the support of our Trustee Board, who help ensure our group runs smoothly and safely for all members.

If you’re interested in supporting our group:

Our local campsite, Lapwing Lodge, is located on the beautiful Gleniffer Braes. It’s a fantastic outdoor base where we run activities such as:

  • πŸš£β€β™‚οΈ Kayaking

  • 🎯 Archery

  • πŸ§— High ropes courses

  • 🚡 Mountain biking

  • πŸ”₯ Campfires & BBQs

  • πŸ•οΈ Section meetings and overnight camps

We’re all about giving young people the chance to grow, learn, and explore – all while having fun.
